    My arduino gauge project

I can help you out with your code but just getting someone’s code isn’t going to work well unless you use the same sensors and circuits that they are using. What gauges do you want to make? Here’s my temporary gauge setup till I get the double 7” screens to replace the instrument cluster.(hard...

    Fan clutch upgrade...

The Arduino Nano( small version of the uno) has several pwm outputs, I am currently using pwm to control the fan, at 212f it outputs 50%, 220f it outputs 75% and 230f goes 100%. When the AC pressure gets over 260psi on the high side it turns the fan on 100% and the transmission temperature is...

    4r100

Yes that is correct, same goes for an E4OD but a 4R100 is going to need a bit more love to run behind an idi than just swapping a tcase onto it.

    Fan clutch upgrade...

The fan has been working good for me, I haven’t had a chance to tow anything with it yet but how it performed this summer with the AC on and some off roading was great. Not a whole lot you can “tune” with this as it’s just on/off control at some set point that can be whatever you want to be. As...

    The best budget stater?

I just fix up the ones I have from part’s trucks, replace brushes and solenoids and they work great, still running the one I fixed up in 2011, got another to fix up soon for a spare. Can’t beat less than 60-70 bucks around my area, new starters here at $350+.

    transfer case 4407 vs 1356?

Stay away from the 4407, they were only ran for 2 years, parts are hard to find for them especially the f350 style front yoke. They are a 6 pinion planetary compared to the 4 pinion in the 1356. If you want a stronger flanged transfer case get one from a 99-03 7.3 auto, it’s a nv271 (nv273 is...

    OBS cruise control quit

Yes the green wire on the switch and a led flasher and your good to go. That will work and you only need to use one resistor

    OBS cruise control quit

Correct, you have 3 parallel brake light circuits. You don’t have to do anything with the third brake light circuit, just put one end of a resistor to the green wire on the brake switch and the other end of the resistor to ground. This is exactly how the third brake light is hooked up and will...

    OBS cruise control quit

Take a light bulb and connect it to your battery, it lights up and completes a circuit, now take a piece of wire and connect it across your battery and it completes a circuit, which one blows up in your face? Only difference between my example and the truck is the truck has a switch and fuse...

    OBS cruise control quit

I hope your not saying to take the 3rd brake light wires and tie them together as that will short out your brake lights and blow the fuse every time you press the brakes.

    OBS cruise control quit

Just stick a resistor off the brake switch to ground (make sure to NOT to get the hot side of the switch) any resistor 20 ohms to 8 ohms will work, heck you could even stick a small 194 bulb under the dash if you didn’t want to spend any money.

    IP supply line woes

From everything that I could find said they were the same except that AN is held to a tighter tolerance on the threads, they both use the same 37 degree flare. https://www.air-way.com/news/whats-the-difference-between-an-and-jic-fittings-where-does-air-way-fit-in

    IP supply line woes

The IP inlet is a orb #5, the silver fitting pictured above goes orb #5 to jic 6 and the brass hose barb is jic 6 (jic 6 and AN6 are the same)

    ZF5 reverse - repair time!

Sounds like your blocker ring is wore out and the synchro sleeve and gear are wore down. I had the problem of sometimes grinding going into reverse and popping out of reverse. I replaced the 5-R synco assembly and reverse gear to fix it. Old reverse gear with blocker ring Old reverse gear...

    IP Cleaning

Finally got a chance to work on the truck yesterday, pulled apart the transfer pump to find this... Lucky enough it didn’t get into the transfer pump and destroy it, cleaned the rust up as best as I could, made sure the regulator moved freely and put it back together. The rest of the pump...

    7.3 idi cavitation

I’m guessing those holes were there before I rebuilt the engine and had 20 thou taken off. Didn’t realize it at the time but when I broke down the engine and a gallon of clear water came out before oil started draining would of been a good clue on the health of this engine. I was told by people...

    IP Cleaning

The guy I got it from buys core engines and he got ones of these with his bundle of engines. I have no idea if it is good or not and I’m not very fond of hooking it up to my injectors if there is a bunch of dirt sitting in the ports for the injector lines. I’m guessing my best bet right now is...

    IP Cleaning

Got a turbo ip off a friend but every orifice has been left open and in a shop environment so I have no idea what kind of crap has settled in it. What would be a good way to purge the pump out without sending any crap into my injectors? Will spinning the pump by hand with an electric pump...

    Aftermarket gauge ideas. 6.9 & 7.3

Here’s something I’ve been working on, this one will replace the wait to start and electric 4x4 button spot with a small 4.3” screen, screen can have many pages so gauges on one, buttons on another etc.. this a 3.5” but a 4.3 fits better
