Hello, good morning, and I'm screwed.

I wouldn't have an IDI without manual glow plugs, but only on a momentary switch.

freins is scrapping soon a 4x4 dually quad cab gasser

So is it a crew cab? If so, and it has power windows and locks in the rear, I need the drivers side rear door wiring harness.

    Built Ford Tough! Kinda...

Look closely at the frame. I bet its tweeked. It will be pretty hard to replace bushings in the front end, and alignment etc becomes hard especially with a TTB front axle.

    Intake Question

I hate oiled filters. And most people hate K&Ns because they don't filter well. I really like my AEM Dryflow filter. It's an oilless lifetime filter, only $50, and seemed to have better data than most from used oil analyses showing very low silicone, indicating good air filtration.

WOW..... too good to be true???

Yes, 90 reg cab, 5 spd 4x4 IDI F-350 for $350, just wanted it gone . Had fuel issues so had to towed.

Pyro's what ones to avoid and best bang for your buck?

Auber Instruments. They actually tell you the accuracy, you can program them set off an alarm at a given set point, and well priced. I now have five auber digital gauges in my truck, pyro, oil press, water temp, fuel press and boost.

Post a picture. I've never seen or heard of such a thing.

    New headlights

There are two bolts that hold the turn signal/marker assembly to the big plastic piece. You can get at them with the batteries still in with an 8mm deep well socket, but I'm sure it would be a little hard. After you get that assembly off, remove the whole plastic piece, its about 8 bolts, then...

    New headlights

I think they look like crap. The big gap between the headlight and the grille on the passenger side, and the side marker light hanging out - bad enough to catch your shirt on as you walk by. Anyway, unfortunately they are plastic and not glass. I would love some glass ones.

    New headlights

Last night I installed all new headlights on my 97. Figured I'd post it here since its the same as 92-94 IDIs. I replaced the grille, the chrome headlight surround pieces, and all three lenses on both sides. I got the parts on ebay from two different sellers. First problem is adjusting the...

    Got Stuck... Bad

I think this would only be true if you have manual hubs and they are locked in, correct? Otherwise you'd be slamming the front drivetrain to speed at once, not good. How do the auto hubs work? I had them on my 94 and never had a problem. Manual seems like it might be more reliable but the...

whats the best rust encapsulates paint besides por 15

I like rust bullet, less prep intensive than POR-15 and seems to have good reviews.

Which 5 speed would you choose?

The s47 is stronger, but behind an IDI you're not going to smoke an s42 anyway. To me it would depend on if you want to mess with drilling the 460 case to mate to your IDI adapter.

    Rear wheel seal wisdom... Needed

When I did mine, I researched a fair amount and lots of people recommend Scotseal XL Plus, part number 34384. I replaced both and they didn't leak for the two years I still had the truck. I recommend replacing the brake cylinders while your in there, I discovered both mine were leaking...

Intake options for a Banks non waste gated turbo

http://www.oilburners.net/forums/showthread.php?48021-How-I-got-rid-of-my-old-style-Banks-airbox I did this with very minimal tools and expense. I would now recommend an AEM Dryflow filter, its smaller, an washable, not too expensive and from what I've read filters great. I've still got some...

will a f3500 or big tilt hood fit f350

A few years ago I read about a fiberglass tilt front end for our trucks that looked just like the stock front end. Not sure if they're still made though, iirc they were around $2k.

Why should I keep the IDI?

Well from my signature you can see the way I'm going. From what I've read on here, I would not rebuild an IDI. They just don't seem to take to it well. Members have swapped in rebuilt engines and had problems, and done it themselves and had problems shortly (not all, but way too many for my...

I think I fubared my ip...

Make double sure that your FSS is working. Just turn the key on, and disconnect and reconnect it several times and listen for it clicking. If you have fuel to the filter, loosen all your injection lines and crank until you see it bubbling around the nuts. Then tighten them down, let the...

Not necessarily. The hub on most dodge wheels Ive seen won't clear the hub on a Sterling 10.25.

Warm start issue with a difference

My IDI couldn't maintain fuel pressure for anything when the temps dropped below freezing. I had a gauge in the cab, and anytime it was below freezing it would be around 1 psi or lower (often zero). I know the fuel wasn't gelled, as I ran additive in it and the Jetta TDI never had any trouble...

    Saw this on Craigslist

Might be aluminum wheels, but what is shown is stainless or chrome steel simulators. It would be strange to put those over aluminum wheels. In any case, I'd prefer steel with simulators over aluminum.

What do you think about at RDT with a CDR in tandem?

Your intake is already pulling a vacuum on the crankcase. Adding a RDT will decrease that vacuum, I'd be afraid that you'd be sucking a lot of dirty air through the RDT and into the intake.

Custom gauges in 92-97 factory gauge cluster?

I'm looking into putting some real gauges into the factory gauge cluster. I'm planning on running auber instruments pyro, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel pressure, all with programmed alerts if they go above or below the acceptable range. They're all square - so I can't just put...

    New oil pan prep?

I'm sure they paint them to prevent rusting in storage. Nobody would be happy to get a rusty oil pan. International was probably able to get the pan installed and oil put in it fast enough that it didn't have time to rust.
