    Whoa Henry, whoa!

SeaWalker- I really appreciate the offer... The brotherhood is alive and well, but Icanfixall has pretty much got me browbeat into buying new OEM and I'm finding it difficult to shake off the effects of this culture of safety I've been immersed in at the railroad for the last 14 years.. Thank...

    Whoa Henry, whoa!

Not trying to be confrontational here, but take a look at my signature and try to find one thing I've done to make my truck look better...:dunno -Actually I'm a little embarassed at how I haven't done anything yet to spruce Henry up...

    Whoa Henry, whoa!

Hey Billy, No, at the moment I can't tell because there's so much shiny oiliness under there that you can't tell anything. The weather is supposed to warm up this weekend so I'm going to put some simple green in the pressure washer and blast it all clean, dry it all off, start it up and lay...

    Whoa Henry, whoa!

LOL - Hoss, I got news for you.. You're not. You're trusting your brakes to something as fickle as a belt- just like everybody here except the folks that are running electric vacuum pumps.

    Whoa Henry, whoa!

Yeah, I have seen that in some recent post's... Another reason for some unease on my part. Would asking for a pump applicable to a year model prior to the advent of the serpentine belt equipped trucks (or a 6.9) ensure that I got one with the proper shaft diameter? I ask because my ire at...

    Whoa Henry, whoa!

Because mine is marginal since it threw a belt on Baby Moose installation weekend and Billy and I had to drive three miles back to the house with no PS. When we got there PS fluid was sprayed all over from steering while no pump was running... Now I have to top it off once every 4 days to avoid...

    Whoa Henry, whoa!

I knew somebody was gonna say that.. Then I would have to put a fresh PS pump in also... $Cha-ching$cha-ching$

    Our new baby boy!

As many before have said, congratulations. Having a child changes your entire perspective on life. There will be trials and tribulations, but when he is grown and you look back over those years I guaranty that you'll realize they were the most joyful time you can remember in your life. As a...

    Whoa Henry, whoa!

Well, I knew it would eventually happen. Henry has a big ol' vacuum leak in his brake booster and while tracing the source of the leak I discovered that the vacuum pump can only hold 15-16"Hg consistently at idle. I have a vacuum gauge in the cab and watched over the course of two days as my...

    Turbo size question...

I'll share my thinking on this with you guys and use the feed back to see if I'm off my rocker or not... First, heat.. A turbo mounted up in the traditional place puts a lot of heat under the hood, -up pipe, turbo body hot side, down pipe. I would like to move that heat away from the engine...

    ZD9 WMO Fuel Heater

-I would love to see a temp gauge in line past that glow plug setup also, perhaps you might purchase a nice one and mail it to me? You can PM me for my address... -I'm usually a block or two from work before I feel any heat from the vents after a minimum of 7-8 minutes warm up on (heated)...

    ZD9 WMO Fuel Heater

    1. Heat exchangers do not provide instant heat. 2. OB's is not the only board I belong to- these things are all over the place. 3. I can build 4 of these for the cost of 1 brazed plate heat exchanger. 4. I live and breathe safety (work for railroad) but that's almost over the top.. No insult...

    charging problems

Just for S&G's, go to a completely different parts store and get another voltage regulator. I was on my THIRD new one in three days before I got one that worked properly... Also, take apart all your connections, clean them and reassemble with NOALOX cream from Home Depot, Ace, Lowes, etc.. Run a...

    ZD9 WMO Fuel Heater

The thought crossed my mind, but I couldn't come up with an elegant way to deal with shaft leakage...:dunno I don't doubt that one bit. BUT- being able to prime the fuel system right up to the IP with a flip of the switch, or just turn on the pump and turn the handle on a valved T fitting to...

    ZD9 WMO Fuel Heater

Difficulty sourcing WVO was the primary reason I went to WMO. I don't feel as green/ethically happy about it as I would running veg (notice screen name) but it was destined to be burned anyway in a power plant, so I salve my moral wounds with that consolation. Like you though, I'm pretty sure I...

    ZD9 WMO Fuel Heater

No Billy, I haven't... I got so pissed off dealing with the leaky OEM filter head and re-priming and wearing down batteries trying to start that I just capped the ports and went electric.

    ZD9 WMO Fuel Heater

Yeah, I'm seeing this... Little Holley Red is having a hard time with cold WMO... I think I'm gonna have to go to 50/50 for the winter, or get a more powerful pump.

    ZD9 WMO Fuel Heater

Yeah, it dissipates a tremendous amount of heat considering the fuel coming in to it is in the 30's! I had an argument Sunday with the guy at Advance-Discount about glowplugs... Seemed I remembered them being 6volt and supplied in parallel-series. He swore up and down that they were all 12v.

    ZD9 WMO Fuel Heater

It's cool- didn't take it as a slam, and I wholeheartedly agree... NO AIR! AIR BAD!

    ZD9 WMO Fuel Heater

I will admit that ignition was a concern, so it is mounted in a manner that ensures that the glowplug is always submerged in fuel. Where the one from ebay that you showed me has the glow plug, mine has a nipple (ground down a little shorter) with a pipe cap. At full insertion into the pipe cap...
