    Kansas IDI... you are definitely most correct... here are the crossmembers. Top Automatic e340 Second is the f450 two lower ones are the zf5 from 1990 and 1995 (lighter brown one) don't know why but the bottom one with that funky weight had the center tranny mount holes a tad off.

    Thought the crossmember from a 1994 f450 would work. It doesn't. I have one from a 91 IDI and it is different. Anyone know if the 1995 powerstroke crossmember is specific to year(s)? Also, the IDI has a counterweight near the tranny mount?

    More Mistakes: Tight fit issues... E340D Came off without much of a fight. Turbo downpipe allowed the passenger middle bolt to loosen all the way but couldn't remove it until transmission dropped.     Kdo... i did consider the head gasket. Or maybe cylinder 8's cup didn't seat/seal when installed. That could be it, but still not sure. Maybe check motor oil for water?
