I gave up. I cant get the slip yoke apart. We beat on it for 30 minutes! I am just going to damage it if I keep trying. Off to the driveline guy it goes. I hate it when I cant do a simple job
I worked at the only Radiator shop in town. When the tubes leak where they go into the hedder we can't fix that. The aluminum expands and contracts with temps. The tubes are too thin to be welded with anything we have. No epoxie can take that abuse either.
Spectra is no longer in the Radiator busisness! I assume they have a new vendor now. Not sure how that will or won't effect the warranty.
Many radiator problems are caused by a faulty cap that won't vent @ the right pressure. Those Mororads that every parts store has now are the biggest...
I am currantly running a plastic tank rad. It is replacing the 3-4 all al aluminum ones that leaked a year or 2 after I put them in.
Btw all new cars and trucks made in the last 30 years have plastic tank rads. Rarely do they fail like they did in the beginning.
I have never had any luck with those variable tubes. I usually put in a tube with a smaller orifice. The different colors mean different sizes. I like the Orange one. Works great here in the desert.
WM supertech is made and bottled by several oil co's. Warren, mobile and Citco. All are quality oils. I like the warren oil myself. I used it in my peterbilt and the used oil analysis I sent in came back great every time. Many oils are made by warren such as STP,proline etc.
Blowing out the paper ones does not work either. The dirt gets down in the fibers. Blowing one out only gets the loose stuff out.
Got bit by that myself. My Jeep would not go up a hill.
