Aluminum is generally not repairable. Can't easily take one apart to clean it like you can copper. Some shops still acid dip the copper rads. Can't do that with aluminum.
Consider copper reusable and aluminum a 1 time use.
You really need to service it correctly. Pull the tube and see if it's contaminated. Is the accumulator the original R12 one? How about the Orange tube if converting to r134a?

I am running this filter head and 33123 filter. Wix only lists 2 filters that will fit it and neither are in stock when I need one. I found a filter at tractor supply that will also fit because the area on the head is so wide a smaller diameter gasket will still seal.
