    Could this be the solution?

I put a stud into the block in place of the aft fuel pump bolt. It's way easier to get a nut on that stud than to get the bolt started.

Anti Cavitation test strips and bottles where to get these days?

I test each gallon of coolant after I mix it, I test each truck I'm driving a couple of times a year, and I still wind up tossing half the test strips when they get old. They're cheap enough it's not a big deal to get a fresh batch every year or so.

I use the NAPAkool additive, and the NAPA test strips. Not sure if that's going to be available over there.

    Grease gun recommendations?

So far every cheapie grease gun I've tried has been garbage. The made in USA ones have been a bit better, but are spendy and hard to find.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Looks like we'd want the FV-65038?

    Time to defeat my FSS?

How would you seal the pass-through? What would you pass through, for that matter?

    Tie down hook

If you want something like the track, just use shallow unistrut.

    Time to defeat my FSS?

Oops, it looks as if the mechanical shutoff mechanism was in the pump body. I'm looking at page 9.1 of this manual, part 36, SHAFT ASSY., shut off. https://radionerds.com/images/f/f4/Stanadyne_db2_operation_and_instructions_manuals.pdf So, there may never have been a governor cover for our...

Specialty Tools Needed for 7.3 Rebuild?

When I blow up that photo, I can almost read the instructions. It'd be kinda cool to print it, laminate it, and put it on the bottom of the drawer in which I keep what few of those tools I have.

    Tie down hook

It'd be nice to somehow have some flush tiedown points in the surface of the bed, maybe set up to pull up?

    Time to defeat my FSS?

There have been Stanadyne top caps for the cable shutoff. I wonder if any of them would fit our DB2 pumps?

    Tie down hook

Haven't done it yet, but my plan is to put some stout angle iron on top of the bed sides and across the front, maybe 2x2x3/16 or so, then weld on some d-rings to the vertical side of the angle, which would be sticking down inside the bed. Here's a cross section through the top of the bed side:

    Arctic Ambulance

Not turbo'ed, unfortunately. I don't have the parts to turbo a van, so it'll likely stay that way. The idea isn't to make this another project, but to throw a mattress in there and go to Tangle Lakes and Chena Hotsprings and maybe drive the Denali Highway this coming summer. If I can put a...

    Arctic Ambulance

When I went to pick it up, the batteries were weak, and so he pulled it into his shop and we set about trying to open the battery drawer. Eventually we figured out the slides were rusted solid - probably the only rust on it! So we pried and struggled and got the drawer to roll out, and put in...

    Arctic Ambulance

I just bought my first van, a '94 E-350 ambulance. It's been a work truck for a local contractor for years, so it has few miles and probably lots of idling hours on the engine. Seems to be in fair shape, over all. It'll become a little RV for us. Apparently he bought it in the Lower 48 and...

Changing a head gasket in the brown truck.

So I got the head off. Thank God there are signs that the gasket was bad! I had been afraid it would be a cracked head. That's the number 1 cylinder in the closeup. We can see some rust. The piston was noticeably cleaner in that cylinder, too. The gasket had definitely deteriorated. That's...
