I haven’t used one of these but I see the trigger point is set to low in each of your pictures. Is that a setting that is correct for the 7.3 idi? When I read the manual for it, low is triggered at 30% pressure and high is triggered at 70% pressure, so I’m thinking it’s somewhat of a sensitivity...
I said most likely. You may have 2 different problems. If you have coolant in oil you need to fix that and see if it still smokes. As for rebuilding oil cooler recently, it’s not hard to nick an o ring on installation. Did you smell the smoke to see if it was coolant or fuel, or could be oil?
Is it a r134 or r12? If it’s the old round tubing type it should work fine. If it’s the new style the passages are not much more than pin size and may cause restrictive flow.
How long has the pump been sitting before it was installed. May have gummed up from being on the shelf. I’d run a cleaner through it and see if it makes a difference.

I’d still check for exhaust leaks, new turbo wheel should add more air to offset fuel. It doesn’t take much exhaust or boost leak to lower boost and raise EGT.
lining up the timing marks are to get it running. The pump is probably out of time. Take the AC glow plugs out and install Motorcraft before you regret it. When it cranks and doesn’t start are you getting smoke out of tailpipe?
