    Electrical Gremlins...

Agreed. At some point in the very near future, right after we get set up on Pine Island, I'll make up a new wire. Even though the present one looks great and the way I'm starting it when the malfunction occurs is to touch it to battery hot...

Thanks! I don't have a FSM, would you be able to tell me how many I'm looking for and/or a way to identify them?

    Electrical Gremlins...

Thanks Gents! Raylan is a January '94 production f250 idit 4x4 e4od with 155,000mi on the clock. I had the opportunity to do some more diagnostics! When I went out to attempt to trouble shoot the cruise, I thought I'd start it since it was sitting for a day and it *seems* to act up when it's...

    Electrical Gremlins...

Thanks Scott. The cable is in great shape and the starter is new. I initially thought it was a faulty starter, so I pulled it and exchanged it at NAPA. When the no start condition occurs, if I unbolt the starter solenoid exciter wire and touch it to the right terminal (battery hot) it starts as...

Looking good Wes! I've been trying to contact you. I know that you are busy, but please reach out when you have a moment...

    Electrical Gremlins...

I've been a bit plagued by some electrical anomalies! Cruise control quit, mysterious e4od trouble codes and the most baffling (to me at least), I'm still having starting problems! Intermittently - 1 in 15, sometimes 2-3x in a row, I'll turn the key and although the fender mounted solenoid...

    More e4od problems...

Update, we're in Ocala Florida at a friends house for another day. I was checking out the connections on the tranny and at the axle. Everything is super clean and the wiring and connectors are in great shape. I didn't pull the VSS, I'll wait until we get to the Island where we've got the Jeep...

Brand new to the fourm...Have a question

FWIW, Mel @Agnem recommends using additive with every fill up for maximum service life on the Moose pumps.

    More e4od problems...

I'll check it out when I'm under there in a day or so. I really doubt that the connections are at issue. We replaced the transmission a few thousand miles ago and when we did, we were pretty fussy about getting it together right, but sure, stranger things have happened to be sure...

Thanks Friend! However, the cruise control system on the OBS is different than the Brick nose. It's all electronic, no vacuum.

    More e4od problems...

@chillman88 beat me to it, but no vacuum control on the OBS cruise. Regarding the codes, I'm sure the ecm may store them, but to be able to drive w/o being in limp mode, I had to clear them by disconnecting the batteries...

Where did you locate your aftermarket gauges in your obs powerstroke

IDI but an OBS nonetheless. I've got oil pressure, trans & coolant temp on the pillar with EGT & boost offset to the left in a pod on top of the dash. Working well for driving/towing by EGT.

Yup, that's where I've got it.

Thanks, that's a load off my mind. Do you think that an intermittent VSS problem could cause the cruise to become inoperable?

Thanks! I'm using Mercon V. Do you know if the port is before the cooler?

    More e4od problems...

In regards to the fluid temp, I've got the probe in the port on the drivers side, near the linkage. IIRC, that's before the cooler, anyone know for sure?

We're in Florida! The sun makes me happy! I switched the OD on 50ish miles ago, no malfunctions as of yet. Running at around 2000rpm, 60ish mph is seems to be running a bit hotter, coolent around 195*-205*, tranny just below 200* ambient temps are 20-30 degrees warmer and of course full sun...

I have the Inova 3145 scanner, it stores them until you power it up connected, then it auto clears.

Thanks for the information! I'd thought that it was a Hall effect sensor. We've got about 4.5 hours drive to a buddy's house in Williston Florida where we're going to visit for a few days before heading back down to Pine Island. I'll have some time to dig into it there, hopefully, with the help...

Were tucked in for the night at a campingworld parking lot just outside of Savannah. You're one of the people I was thinking of! I'll check the codes again, but if it's not flashing, it's not throwing anything. Every time it did, it was the 3/4 circuit fault. Do you think that the cruise control...
