So what did you do with your truck today?

Yuh I won. Took 3 days to do the oil change. For when I had time and tool runs. Snapped an oil wrench which I returned and bought a pair of channel locks. Ended up using a saw zaw, heat gun, hammer, and channel locks to get it off. Probably spent a total of 8 hrs trying to get it off.

    Ring and pinion

If you think your differential is on that bad shape, it's probably easier for the home mechanic to just axle swap it. Gear work is meticulous and exact. Watch lots of videos first before pulling it off.

Wiring Glow plugs on 93 7.3 idi to a momentary switch

I agree about the resistance in the circuit which isn't getting solved being an issue. That's reasonable. Also, about being stranded if the controller or switch fails. If you have a controller, you can take a jumper cable and bite the solenoid and hold it there for about 10s in a pinch. It'll...

So what did you do with your truck today?

This is what I found online

So what did you do with your truck today?

Based off another image I found it's the temperature gauge sending unit. Know what that is now.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Hol up hold up hold up. What's the temperature sensor/switch? Usually starts after 20min of cranking with a gas rag. I know that's a bad sign of compression, on the flip side though I get 17mpg with 4.10s on 33s, and blow by is minimal. It always starts though and then runs fine. To be fair, I...

    Air Intrusion Question

Doesn't change the prices, just the pipelines of course which definitely doesn't effect prices.

So what did you do with your truck today?

New glow plugs, harness, and relay with new ground wires. Hold it down for about 15s, try cranking, then hold it another 5s, no crank, 5s.... Haven't held the ped down though, new to me truck I bought last summer. I can hear it wanting to catch bit it doesn't. Will let the throttle on while...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Got my controller deleted for the glow plugs. Just need a 150 amp to go on the power cable. Came out pretty clean, original solenoid knocked the terminal out surprisingly. Truck has still been hard starting despite new GP system, and electric fuel system. It's about 30° F. I think though, when...

    Oil in exhaust

Check your valve covers and CDR valve on the back of engine behind the air intake. They are notorious for leaking. My truck leaks the same way right into my exhaust pipes and I pinned it to the valve covers. For me passenger side rear. On my photos you can see how dirty and caked they were, then...

    Blinkers + Hazards quit working

Should work. A lot of the interior parts are interchangeable. The IDI ended production in 94, and the PSD picked up in 94-96.

    Blinkers + Hazards quit working

There is a round thing in you fuse panel to the left of steering wheel. That's is your blinker/flasher relay. After that, I would suspect the blinker switch in the steering column.

    Air Intrusion Question

I have a hard time believing that the air intrusion is that bad. If it was that bad it would most certainly be leaking fuel. Common air intrusion spots are the tank lines and fuel filter housing. Fuel pump. Do you have verified fuel pressure? Is it an electric or stock fuel pump? Return lines...

    IDI FANATIC

Howdy folks! New to the forum, but have been on FTE forum for a while. Drive a 7.3 IDI which I plan on completely rebuilding. Also drive a 4.9 I6 which is my toy truck. Fun little thing. That sums up everything about me

    Idi extreme coolant pressure/leakage

Have a blockage somewhere. Logically to me I think it's in the radiator and that should be replaced. Or the pump?
