Headlight / dimmer switch keeps popping fuse..

That's exactly what I planned to do next , I just need to pick up some more fuses LOL

Headlight / dimmer switch keeps popping fuse..

Yep , I replaced it the other day. I'm basically disconnecting everything that I know is on that circuit one by one , popping a fuse in and seeing if it pops lol. I have a pretty big pile of blown fuses LOL

Headlight / dimmer switch keeps popping fuse..

When the switch is pulled out the first click it immediately blows the fuse. Headlights still work but no running lights. I replaced the switch , traced wires , checked tail lights , disconnected the power side of the running board lights and the visor lights , disconnected the trans temp gauge...

    Recharging AC

That's a good point. It would be a very small amount in the system. I wasn't completely serious , and I may try it if this stuff leaks out. It's working great for now , we'll see how long it lasts.

    Recharging AC

Hopefully it doesn't leak , but if it does at least it was cheap! Lol. It can't leak in to the cab can it?

    Recharging AC

Yes but propane goes boom! . I finally got around to charging it. It was still holding the same vacuum . Unfortunately the r12 that I thought I had.. Wasn't where I thought it was. Lol. So I used air duster cans instead LOL . I bought a 6 pack for $30 , used 3 cans and she's blowing...

    Recharging AC

The weather has been cooler with rain so it dropped a little on my priority list. We have a green house full of plants that need to be transplanted in the garden. I have to build squirrel covers over the boxes so they don't destroy everything this year. Hopefully I can get to it this evening!

    Road draft tube

Been there , had one for over 2 years , finally had enough! Immediately after installing it the engine started seeping oil from places that use to be dry. I had several people tell me my truck was on fire. The dirty looks and guilt when you're stopped in traffic , on a hot day , and you're...

    Recharging AC

It got to about 28-29 inhg and wouldn't go any lower. After about 30 minutes it was still at 28-29. I will recheck it in the morning . :)

    Recharging AC

Awesome , thanks! So I don't need the high side connected to pull a vacuum and charge it? If that's the case I will run the vacuum pump for an hour , seal it off and let it sit over night. Then charge it in the morning.

    Recharging AC

I replaced the accumulator and all o-rings. The plastic pressure sensor nut cracked even though I only hand tightened it , so I need to grab a new one. I figured I could at least pull a vacuum on it to check for leaks and get any moisture out, but the hf fittings don't fit on the high side , but...

    Recharging AC

I planned on buying the gauge set and vacuum pump. I should be able to just vacuum test it to check for leaks right? I have a few old cans of r12 so I figured I'd just try to use those. The HF gauge set looks like the hoses have ends that might fit the r12 fittings , and then it has 134a...

    Recharging AC

I am going to attempt to recharge my AC. I had to open up the system when I swapped engines. I don't think any oil leaked out so I think I should be able to just test and recharge..? Does anyone know if the Harbor Freight AC gauge set works with r12??

Pillar post gauges '94 F350 crewcab 7.3 idiT

I am less than impressed with the fit / color match of my glowshift pod . I almost sent it back.. A little work with a heat gun helps a lot.

Anyone buy a "new" VRV on fleabay?

Mine appears to be MIA . I know it's here somewhere , but if you don't mind shipping him one of yours it would save me some digging :)

Anyone buy a "new" VRV on fleabay?

I have one that should be good . It came off a daily driven truck. I can toss it in the mail for you on Friday.

I'm back in the IDI game!

I've got a few thousand miles on it so far but haven't hit any grades that big yet so I'd definitely like to have working gauges. I got the bad gauge pulled and swapped the new gauge to the bottom of the pod to gain enough length to reach the block. Currently waiting on new valve cover gaskets...

I'm back in the IDI game!

Unfortunately it did. The smell was so strong. It smelled similar to starting fluid. It didn't air out for several hours . Also at that point I had no coolant temp gauge hooked up , and some very large mountain passes to go through. I figured it was better to postpone the trip.

I'm back in the IDI game!

We were just headed out for a little family road trip and didn't even make it out of our driveway. We were driving along and suddenly heard the sound of pressure being released. We immediately smelled a funky smell that filled the cab. I pulled over and had my wife and son get out since I didn't...

I'm back in the IDI game!

Well here is the current temporary setup. Unfortunately the sender wire on the new coolant temp gauge is not long enough... So I will just keep the other one installed for now. The gauges from the bottom of pod up are boost , EGT , oil pressure , coolant temp. The one on the column is the...

I'm back in the IDI game!

I realized I won't have time for awhile to build a center console / gauge mount so I pulled the glowshift pillar pod back out of the box and tried to make it work. It still fits like crap , but is a bit better after some heat from the heat gun. I realized my boost line is too short , and I want...
