    Air intrusion, fuel filter

You may have a look @ this: https://www.oilburners.net/threads/e350-idi7-3-fuel-sending-unit-air-intrusion.91338/post-1103580 Just in case you have a similar "fuel sending unit" like my Eco. I am lazy and I just make sure, that the tank is not running low.

E40D Flexplate replacement - shifting trouble

Sorry to use a Russian phrase: "Vertrauen ist gut, Kontrolle ist besser." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trust,_but_verify but it simply fits here. Van and E4OD are just fine again. :Thumbs Up I've gone through yesterdays work to verify it. Checked the female ends in the plugs to see if they...

E40D Flexplate replacement - shifting trouble

Hi @ all! We'll check the electric and ground today as well as the other cable related suggestions. Would be logical, that it is an electric caused failure, because the gearbox was just fine when driving the van on the workshop lift for the flexplate replacement.

E40D Flexplate replacement - shifting trouble

Thanks u2slow. We didn't take the TC off. The oil in the gear box looks like new. Perfect shiny red.

E40D Flexplate replacement - shifting trouble

:) Thanks for taking time for this thread. Thought the same. Shouldn't be mechanical... O-ring seal was/is in place. Done - - this way. :) This we forgot to do. Will be checked tomorrow. Didn't use grease by now. But it sits completely within the terminal. I don't know which fuse number...

E40D Flexplate replacement - shifting trouble

I need some out of the box ideas to get forward with our gearbox trouble. Directly after replacing the flexplate, letting the van down from the lift, starting and driving it the first time, new things appeared. - The sound of the 7.3idi N/A was different than 4.5 hours before. It sounded like...

    Best radiator hose clamp?

I like these clamps because they do their job equal and you can tighten them more. Extra nut may not be necessary. But since the bolt is long enough...

Powerstroke 2 IDI no Turbo conversion

My idea is to rescue the broken IDI engine. I have no intention to go with HEUI. I want to stay mechanical. My problem is just, that it is not easy to find the replacement for the broken parts. Not here in Europe and not in the USA. Furthermore, I don't want to drive with Diesel only. This...

Powerstroke 2 IDI no Turbo conversion

I don't want to share how much I already payed for the F.O.R.D. since it is in my ownership. In the US you would probably say that I am crazy, paying these European prices. Thanks for the link! That's the idea. I'm missing the crankshaft, some rods and pistons. I was hoping to get away...

Powerstroke 2 IDI no Turbo conversion

Ok. But there is a PS7.3 2 IDI available: https://www.gohypermax.com/ProductDisplay.aspx?id=ac1c22c9-c515-4b4a-82cc-8df2dccc5adb But this is basically a "totally new engine". And looking at / concidering all the effort they have put in, the price is ok. I don't believe, they get rich on this...

Powerstroke 2 IDI no Turbo conversion

I am running an '94 Eco IDI w/o turbo. My first IDI broke down some year ago and I still have this motor sitting here. The engine had a problem with the oil pump and it ran dry. Crank shaft, some rods and pistons changed color. Problem here in Europe is the limited availability of spares for...

    New Flywheel + Starter Motor

I saw this starter with our Forum-Supporter Classic Diesel Design too: https://classicdieseldesigns.com/products/pwm-3-6hp-6-9-7-3-upgraded-starter For the moment I purchased a new Mitsubishi from BBB Industries N17037 and the ATP Z344 flexplate. I expect it during next week to arrive.
