Glow plug stuck
I woiuldn't give up yet. I broke a glow plug on my 6.9. I could look in the hole and see the broken tip jammed in the hole. I was able to thread a drywall screw into the center on the broken off tip. Using lots of various oils and sprays, I was able to get it out, amazing, yes, but it did...- Kurt_M

Glow plug removal tips?
I've broken a couple off over the years. The tip is hollow and I was able to screw a long dry wall screw into the broken tip, just kept working and soaking and got it out. I had one that would just spin but I couldn't get it out, I started and revved the engine a couple times and it blew the...- Kurt_M

Coolant leaking from...somewhere
My mysterious coolant leak that showed up about the same place as yours was the heater hose where it attaches to the right side head. It was leaking when cold but hard to find it as after it ran a while the manifold heat boiled all the signs away.- Kurt_M

6.9 IDI Burning Oil Excessively
I have found on my 6.9, as it gets aged more it becomes more sensitive to a new air cleaner element. My oil consumption begins to go up long before the air cleaner seems dirty.- Kurt_M
