Have you seen the replacement in person, or just online? If it's the latter, those might just be generic stock photos. Try Rock Auto, they're usually pretty good about having actual pictures.
Just wanted to add my install to the thread.
I bolted my pump to the metal plate that helps support the battery tray. No fabbing required and the pump is nice and tucked away. Almost like it belongs there...

Hey thanks for the reply. Got it all figured out right after posting. I had tried to use needle noses to no avail, but was able to borrow some regular pliers and it became super simple.
The little wire on top activates the solenoid. It is from the ignition. It's also hooked into the Neutral Safety Switch (MPLS) so that the ignition circuit won't be complete if the truck's in gear. Not really sure why it's a double wire though, unless there was some sort of push button or remote...
