Hi again,just to put a period on my original question,I found a company(wildhorse mfg) that makes a steel cummins to zf5 adaptor that is 3/4'' thick that will work giving me 38 3/8'' engine and adapter.That I can for sure make that work. Hello Hi ,ZF5s are 100% garbage The spicer is out of 73 KW 900 kenworth that had 400 big cam in it. And no,It dosen't vibrate one bit at 80 and pulls my 16,000 lbs 44 ft race trailer like it isn't there.I do this for a living. Because with what I am doing the motor vehicle law requires the swap in diesel to be from the same class and weight of truck. So no 4bt and I don't want my truck to sound like a backhoe. or I would just install a 6v53- 79twinstick

Because my truck has TWO transmissions and THREE driveshafts.The front trans is Borg warner t18 and behind that is a Spicer 6041 auxiliary.There is the shortest possible drive shaft between them with a two piece rear shaft.I had to redesign the whole underneath of the truck to fit the spicer so...- 79twinstick

Hello,and thank you to all that replied like I said I have 37.5 bell face to radiator. 37 5/8 would be ok ,but most adapters I believe are 1 1/2'' or 2'' so worst case 40"total with the adapter.I'm gonna have to think about this.
