Zf5 rebuild costs?

Found a good deal on a 77 f350 crew cab with a good 12 vale cummins hooked to a zf5 that what the owner sais is blown up but can still move around the yard.would love to buy this truck but need to now the costs in a full blown rebuild before a offer is made

Depends on what's broken. Used 2wd zf's go for 500, 4xs seem to fetch around $1000

Check out this page. There are cheaper places to get rebuilt trans. as for quality I have not delt with any. Maybe others will chime in.

It's a 2wd trans going to look at it next week just what to know what they are worth as a bargaining tool to dicker on price
