Surely you can find something a bit more local. I'd even consider finding one at a Pick-n-Pull and have it rebuilt.

I haven't had to price radiators, but a total cost of $340, plus perhaps tax, would give me incentive to keep searching. They show a price of $190, but then shipping at $250. I guess Shanghai is a long way away. That might also give new meaning to the old saying "Slow boat from China".

For just a test stand, could probably get whatever is cheapest.
Wouldn't technically even have to be a diesel specific one.

Ya what he said. Go to autozone or Rock auto and buy a Gm crossflow for a chevy pickup with a 454. It will be a 2R alumunum core rad. The money you saved can be used to adapt hoses to the engine and you will have cash left over.

Just ask towcat where he has his radiator work done. As for buying the pictured radiator.. Nope.. Pass. The radiators many have purchased on this forum are from an ebay location in Lake Elsinore Ca. Some had shipping damage to the trans oil cooler line area but that is not a deal breaker for a standard trans rig. You might want to look into the Rodney Red. They just do not get any better than that. I have one and several other members have this. You install it and forget it.

If it comes from China, but it has extruded aluminum tanks, it's pretty high quality. If it's got fabricated tanks, I would run it on a test stand, but not in a vehicle. If I was going to build a stand, I'd user a gasser radiator, maybe even two smaller ones as you won't care about the fit. And everybody knows you love to fabricate stuff :D
