Will a 13 tooth Mitsubishi fit ?

Will a 13 tooth gear reduction Mitsubishi starter fit in place of a 10 tooth delco?

I thought they were all 13 tooth.. maybe i got my starters mixed up though.

yes, the delco has fewer teeth because it is direct drive, well if it is the direct drive one.

My delco is direct drive, but it is sounding really tired and I would like to replace it with a gear reduction for faster cranking. So the 13 tooth will fit?

according to the directions in the box , they are not supposed to interchange.
But I have 3 of them that have been on for a long time. no noises etc.

you're worrying about nothing. they interchange with no problems.

Only one ring gear. They have to interchange.
