After deciding to start slipping while pulling up to the storage unit, the truck decided that it would only go forward and that neutral would also be forward gear. It is now time for either a rebuild or replacement. I am not looking for an E40D or 4R100; I need some advice on either rebuilding or a solid replacement. I have done trans rebuilds in the past. (mostly Mopar and a few C4/5 trans. So I am not opposed to doing it, but if the parts cost and time are starting to get into reman territory, I would replace it.
I am planning an R&D stage 2 kit this year, so I want a decent auto behind it. I do not feel like tracking down the parts for a ZF5/6 swap. I like the auto for what I am using it for, and it keeps it where the wife and 20-something daughter can drive it when needed. HELP! I need a trans.
