This is for the tps on the drivers side of the injection pump. It has three wires to it. The center wire is the connection you need. Warm up the engine so the internal injection pump advance is off and so is the fast idle. This happens around 120 degrees of the coolant. Now turn on the ignition switch but leave the engine off.. Not running. Use a digital voltmeter and see what the voltage is on the center wire. It must be .96 and up to 1.2 volts. The higher voltage makes for a firmer shift. See what the wide open throttle voltage is.. It can never be 5 volts. If the computer sees 5 volts it goes into limp home mode. Driveing it like that will ruin the trans. Really not much can be done about the wide open throttle volts. The .96 to 1.2 volts is key on engine off at the idle setting. Hope this helps..

You and your friend are very welcome. As for joining here its another way to ask and get free advise to repair these simple trucks. Your not going to get a dealer to offer free advise ans at around $100.00 per hour just how much can the average guy afford to have someone else work on our rigs.. We try to instill confidence in new owners that they can do anything. But asking questions is the first thing they need to do..
