Thrashed E4OD/4r100

I know that we have all talked about the good and bad of the E4OD/4r100 transmissions used with the 7.3 IDI and 7.3 PSD.

This guy owns a transmission shop and he, Richard the grey haired guy doing the work, and his son, the one running the camera own this shop. I’ve gotten hooked on watching their videos, and enjoy the tear-down and explanation videos. They recently posted this one. It’s a totally thrashed and trashed E4OD/4r100, from I think a 7.3PSD...... but you can see what’s actually in these transmissions, and all the damage..

I wouldn't pull the pump the way he does it in the video.

Use a slide hammer, or a plastic hammer.

Doing it his way will kill your hand quickly.

As for the pumps, gas and diesel use the same pump. The differences are in the production numbers. Early pre 95 are E9. Post 95 F5. In 98 F8 cane out That is the PWM pump used in the 4R100.
