Since Bonnie got sick, we haven't needed two trucks and her 97 just sat around.. It was driven occasionally, but not enough to justify keeping it. I listed it for sale on CL and got a few bites, but nothing serious. I also listed it on autotrader.com and got a call today. The guy knew 7.3's and took it for a test drive. While on the test drive, we noticed the smell of coolant. When we got it back to the house and popped the hood, we found the degas bottle full and weeping out the top. He thought it might be the thermostat, but I was thinking that maybe a head gasket had started leaking.

He called his brother, who is a diesel mechanic and talked it over with him. I ended up dropping the price, enough to cover the cost of a head gasket job and a glow plug replacement.. He drove the truck home, about two hours ago....

That's to bad the truck had to act up causing a hit on the wallet like that. Everything is worth gold until you go to sell it.
