I think I need new rims, 16"

I am putting on goodyear 235/85R16 14 ply tires 110 psi I think the standard rims are not enough to handle the high pressure. I can not find any rating stamped on the rims.

WHere is a good source for rims for my dexter axles??

What is the load rating on those tires? 3400# or higher?
Have you looked at the low profile 19.5" tires and wheels. They are very expensive, but will carry a lot more.

You can call the folks at Southwest Wheel Company and see what they have. I could not find anything on their site with a 8-6.5 bolt circle with higher than 3000# rating other than Alcoa. They do show 3400# steel rims, but with the metric pattern.
This is there site http://www.southwestwheel.com/ and their number is 1-800-866-3336.

I agree go with 19.5 tires you will run into problems with the 235/85R16 rubber with a F or G rating because the tires heat up too fast. Are you sure the tires are that size and not 7.50R-16 which are usually 14ply commonly sold to the loggers for bush trucks.

You will knotice the 14ply 16s are speed rated so you have to keep the speed under the rating and short distances. You will have road alligators if you start overheating the tires and have more problems over running E rated rubber.

Get a set of Rickson rims, like the man said they are exspensive but worth it. I have a set on my truck which is a SRW short box, I pull the house with 0 sway, the truck is stable as a dually. Probably my best mod to date.
