I understand what you are saying. But that engine never had a chance. My first time "putting it back in service" wouldn't be with a fully loaded horse trailer, sorry. I would have loaded the engine like smokey73 said and at least given my engine a chance to settle in.
The guy probably ran the snot out of it on that first run too. You can use them, but you don't have to run the heck out of it, not the first time out.
