Question for administrator (SPAM)

I'm a member on a few other forums and one of them is getting hammered a lot lately by spammers trying to sell electronics or other crap.

May I ask if there is some secret to keeping the parasites out? ....or is that a trade secret?

Most is the admins diligent programming and the rest falls on us under worked and over paid moderators
