Ok a lot of guys have been asking what it takes to put the 94-97 bumper vents in an 89 style bumper. So here it is.

Tools.
I used a grinder with a 4'' cut off wheel

The belt trim is the same size on the bumpers
First pull the bumper off, it's easyer to do this

now pull the license plate mount

Next I set the vents on the bumper to fined center and then cut belt trim so the vents would over hang about a half an inch

Then I marked out where i needed to cut with a sharpie then I cut it out with my grinder

Then i trimmed the tabs off the back of the vents and set them in to place

I used some small screws to hold it in place. I put them inside the vent holes so you can't see them

Now here it is

i did mine about the same way. i would paint or some way treat the cut edges to prevent rust streaks from running down the bumper. this needs to be done at least in michigan. looks nice. joe

I am thinking before I do the bumper mod, I might try this; Make a flat or slightly angled air deflector to hang down from the lower radiator support. There are 3 big holes there that possibly could be used to mount it with angle brackets. This would be the same thing most new cars use. They have all those rinky-**** decorative small grills, but they get away with it because most of them have a rubber-like air deflector that hangs down under the car and directs air up into the radiator.
