As I am writing this I believe i have figured out my self induced problem.
I replaced the fuel tank switching valve inside the frame rail, which pretty well drained the lines.
Then I replaced the fuel shut off solenoid inside the injection pump as well as the cold solenoid.
I started the truck, which now sounded different with a working cold solenoid, and a few seconds later, it died.
Crank, start, engine runs up to about 1800 rpm and it dies.
Repeat a few times.
After a few times, get out and check the shut off solenoid with the engine off, key on.
Click, click, click, checks fine.
Pull wire off the cold solenoid and fired it up.
Runs fine.
What are the chances, that the washer that is supposed to be insulating the post from grounding out, is not working?
Tomorrow will be another fiber washer and try it one more time.
The annoying part is that the engine started and ran a few seconds before acting up.
Meanwhile the '94 F350 crewcab 7.3 idi turbo is laughing at me for working on the one that will be sold soon.
