My brother has a 92 k3500 sclb manual trans 6.5. He backed over a stump and knocked a hole in the oil pan. To me it looks as if you may be drop the pan and remove to put a new one in without pulling the engIne. Is it doable or can we have drop the diff and put a new on in.

almost all of my experience is 2wd trucks and it's stupid easy to R&R a chevv pan in comparison to a IH. I can't answer on the late 4wd chassis unfortunately. One thing for sure is make sure you are getting a one piece rear main seal pan. the older rope seal pans are completely different on the rear main cap.

should have no problems getting out, might be a little tight but it should come out on a 2wd .......... it is possible on a 4wd but it is easier to drop the suspension than trying to snake the pan out.
