oil going somewhere...but where? stumped

Filler cap. Your right as far as best brand, everyone has good luck with a different one it seems. My idi seems to like delo 15w-40, but I had enough valvoline blue 5w-40 left over once from oil changes in my 97 and I dumped that in it.....seemed to use less of it, but at the price of synthetic theres no way that I'm going to regularly use it in an idi.

I'd say have em pop tested when ya get time. The one I can see looks like it's still painted gray, maybe its just the way it looks. Blowby doesnt look that bad though, little puffs buts its kinda random there at the end, not like its hitting with every stroke of a piston. Try that and play with oil brands, see what happens.
