Oil gauge

So yesterday i was heading to home depot and my oil gauge dropped fast and the check gauge light appeared. Trucks running just fine but it freaked me out concidering i just replaced the heads. My buddy Zech said it sounds like the sending unit.

My questions are..

Is this the right assumption?
Where is it located on my 05 6.0?
Where can I find one and whats the average price?

I am not sure where it is located on the 6.0, but this is PURELY why I run the mechanical gauges. I hope it all works out for you driver.
