o ring size

can anyone tell me the o-ring size that goes on the fuel filter drain valve assembly on a 89 IDI ? I think mine are starting to go south
hope to replace with viton

If you are talking about the brass drain on the bottom of the two part filters there isn't any o-ring. Its just a metal to metal seat cut on a bevel.

Maybe its gummed up? Try taking it apart and give her a good cleaning with some brake kleen

anyone using the wix 33617 to replace their filter / separator with 1 unit?

Yes I use it for the same reason. Fuel filter drain was impossible to stop the leak on. It's been over 2 years and I'm happy with the Wix filter.

there is a rubber seat inside mine that was hard and cracked, replaced with one i cut and no leaks so far

best thing you can do is use the wix filter with the intergarated water drain, the factory junk leaks, befoe i knew about the wix filter i tryed cleaning mine everyway possible on my 7.3, but finally i just had to rtv the **** out of it and it aint leaked in 4 years
