I just want to know who thinks that requiring that cars meet an emission standard, and then not requiring the fuel that is required to meet that standard, is a good idea.
The American public seems to be lapping the TDIs up even with the "diesels are stinky and noisy" stereotype... 40% of Jettas and 38% of New Beetles sold last quarter were TDIs...
Well....according to the law, the new ULSD was SUPPOSED to be available nationwide by June of this year to be ready for the 2007 model year diesel vehicles....I have yet to see a drop of the stuff in this state.
Despite what the paper says, the decision is also more directly related to their dropping the unit injector setup (Pumpe Duse) and adopting high-pressure common-rail. I understood it will come out like a 2007.5 model.
