Hey guys, I'm at a real loss here. I have a 1995 7.3 5 speed, with 203,000. I put new injectors in because the old o rings were bad, and when I fired it up, it ran good for about 10 minutes, then smoked like a train and started popping and running rough. I saw my oil pressure was low, so I replaced the LPOP, now the smoking has died down some, and it moves under its own power, but it still runs rough and smokes. Any suggestions?

what does the scanner say?
ive never heard of the LPOP going bad.
there just steel gears.

where did you get the injectors?

what does your oil and coolant look like?
any pressurization in either?

did you pull the rockers?
all clips, and balls in it place?
i would check the moniters, maybe a ipr or cps.

FYI, IDM's are garbage. try another one.
a contribution test may show an IDM code.

Won't throw a code, the truck is for my boss, and he gave me the injectors to put in. Apparently they're from eBay. So, that could be the issue. Everything's in place. What's an IPR or CPS?

When you open up the oil system you have to run the truck hard to purge all the air out of the heads.

You need to look those up.
You could've forked up by replacing the LPOP. Unless you had a real gauge hooked up to read pressure, you definitely forked up.

How long has the truck run since injectors were installed?

Its going to smoke like train at first cuz of the cylinders being filled with oil and fuel.

Its gonna skip and pop and bang for a bit till the air gets worked out of the fuel and oil systems.

If its automatic take it out and run 40 mph with overdrive off for 40 miles.

5 speed in 4th at 40 for 40 miles.

Can lay a brick on the gas pedal and let it run about 3000 rpm for about 1/2 hour.
