Just finished putting my "craigslist special" exhaust on tonight. It's 4" pipe, no muffler, and sounds great. Paid $60 for 2 4' lengths of pipe, 2 45 degree elbows and then bought the reducers locally.

Be ready to clean your wheel a lot. I was wanting to do the same on my truck but was warned before hand. Even if you don't see it, these trucks put out a lot of soot. But it looks good, i bet it sounds nice too.

cool but i dont think it would be good for the tires if towing, Hulling up a pass in mid summer warms up the tires pretty hot, Now having 900* EGTs blowing on them cant be good

I drove 150 miles today and I'm starting to see a little soot on the wheel. The tire temp seemed fine but I'll have to check it towing. I think I'll keep it like it is for now maybe change the angle or put a turndown to change where the soot is directed. But it sounds sweet lol.;Sweet

You're kidding, right? Only a portion of the exhaust 'heat' will ever affect the tire, hardly enough to heat soak the tire and cause a failure.

I had my exhaust like that for over 2 years and nothings ever happened to any of my tires. I'm always hauling heavy trailers and getting the motor nice and toasty and besides the soot nothing has ever happened to the tires.
