This morning I had a hard time starting the truck. After I got it going it ran for a minute or so and cut right off. It was not the type of cutoff that a truck would do when it runs out of fuel or has an air leak.

I think it is the IP because the past few months it would start fine when totally cold but in order to get the truck started after it had been running and sitting for a while it would not start unless you poured water on the IP. I checked the solenoid on the IP by pulling the wire off with the ignition on and I am getting the click. I had done that a few times and every time I did that it clicked.

I am getting fuel out of the schrader and the fuel filter has less than 1000 miles on it. Right now I cannot afford to get it fixed and this is the only vehicle I have. Fortunately this happened in the parking lot where I live because right now I could not even afford to have had it towed had it happened elsewhere.

The truck has close to 196K miles and as far as I know the IP has never been replaced before. I bought the truck 10 years ago when it had 84K miles on it.

So is there anyway someone can help me out with maybe a spare IP they have laying around?. Install help would be appreciated also as I never done an IP and do not have the tools to do so. I know this is a big favor to ask someone and I really hate to ask for help but I have no alternative. Thanks.

On the next fuel fillup add two quarts of engine oil to it. That will lube the pump and it increases the viscosity of the fuel. This is a badaid only... Just like the water treatment you have been using on a warm worn out injection pump. Sorry your in some tuff straights. Any injection pump from any idi will work to get you back on the road... Just make sure you do not remove the gear tower cover with the injection pump. That will cause the gear timing to need to be reset and thats a tuff un needed task...
