Friends,

What should I expect in MPG for a one-owner/low mileage (167K) F250 XLT Lariat 4x4 diesel with the ZF & running unloaded??
(I've not owned a 4x4 in over 40 years, so I have no idea.)

!5mpg loaded or empty. dually, oem lift, overhead rack, tare @9k/lbs and speed ****** driver doesn't help the mpg calcs.

FORDF250HDXLT; towcat,

THANKS, gents.

Fwiw, the XLT Lariat that I found is NOT a dually & other than an added fiberglass topper is essentially "factory stock".

right.point was, that a if a 4wd drw can get mid teens running empty, and a srw can do 1.5-2 mpg better, you can safety plan on at least the same.;Sweet

with your hubs unlocked a 4wd won't use any more fuel than a 2wd. just a little more weight to carry. if you are 3.55 gears you can pull close to 20mpg or even better if you are an easy driver and keep your speed under 65. 4.10 will cut down your mpg prob 15% at the same speeds.

lug tread tires can pull your economy down even.

sounds like a nice truck and a rare find.;Sweet

compressionignitionrules,

THANKS for the input. - I don't know yet what the rear gear ratio may be, as I've not yet picked up the PU.

Thewespaul,

I expect that you'll see "Big Blue" there.

Btw, do you know of anyone "in our crowd" who wants/needs a nice fiberglass topper.
(I really don't need two & would happily swap one of them for a NICE chrome front bumper/diamondplate toolbox for the PU.)

jonb96150; ALL,

If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all. = Some other guy arrived at the PO house & paid him in cash for the blue PU. = !@#$%^

towcat,

I had offered to send him a check to cash or hold (by courier) until I could get there (& when I would have the cash from the bank), as pleased him.

He said, "No rush. I'll see you here tomorrow about 2PM. Call me when you get into Ft Worth & we'll complete the deal at the clerk's office."

yours, satx
