Is your thermocouple mounted pre-turbo or post-turbo?

If it's mounted pre-turbo, dyoung14's numbers are dead-on....if the thermocouple's mounted post-turbo, then 900 would be the max for an extended period of time, and I'd say it's okay to go up to 1000 for a VERY brief (like less than 30 seconds) time.

Hope that helps :)

the "red zone" on my Banks Stinger pyro starts at 1250. i try to keep it under 1200 prolonged and 1100 constant. i dunno if that's too high or not but the engine runs fine.

Hypermax has told board members here that you can run it at 1250*F with a turbo all day long, BUT that presumes everything is working perfectly, what if some of your oil cooling jets are slightly plugged? How about if the oil pump is not pumpoing quite as strong these days as it used to, worse what if your pyro is reading 25-50 degrees F lower than it should.... personally I like a little fudge factor so 1000-1100 would be the highest I'd ever want to see it mounted pre turbo. I hear that NA stock engines were calibrated to max out around 1150*F so 1150-1200 sounds like a good max number maybe 1100 with the probe right in the manifold or in the crossover within 3-4" of the manifold. But that's just me some folks like to live on the edge and have to watch the pyro like a hawk, I don't.

I think with those kind of weights you'll be just fine as long as you don't go ape on turning up the fuel, my big concerns would be 1) ******* off the DOT guys 2) Being able to stop the load in a panic situation

hahahaha heck with VDOT. most of em laugh in this area! and most loads will be under 6000. i just wanted to make double sure that under a slight to decent load theres no way to overheat.
