Been looking at a few things for Loss Prevention/tracking. I figure one of the best ways to prevent the loss is to stop it before it begins.
I will not prevent the engine from cranking but to prevent it from starting for the average individual. Some people might get energetic enough to stick in a ~worn~ key and try turning the ~worn~ ignition switch. Others might rip out the ign switch and get the steering lock released and then get it cranking to start. I figure to at least allow it to crank. However if there is no power going to the FSS (Fuel Shutoff Solenoid) to open it, it will not start. The individuals can crank it and it won't start.
How many people, in the heat of the moment, will attempt to diagnose a no start situation? This is about all I have to say on this subject. I now need to build the switch to control this system not to mention tapping into the wiring harness away from the obvious bottom of the steering column at the starter switch.
