On my way back from a trip the other day (several hour run) I came to a signal and the engine died...would start ok and as long as I kept the rpm up
was ok. Got it back home changed the fuel filter (overdue )and all was ok:thanks:

But while driving I was thinking of all the things it could be and was wondering
how long the lift pumps last on our trucks ? I have about 175 K on it now .

I went thru 3 Holley Reds in about 18 months at $110 a piece, then I switched to the cheapest universal electric from Autozone (I think I paid $29.99).

That pump is still going on about 5 years now.

pressure is set at about 4 or 5 psi and it works great!!!!!
