ive read about you guys using the GM & Ford block off plates.
only to install them to have them leak.
this part is actually too big to fit inside the casting of the block.
i installed one last night only to have it leak.
so i took my old garbage lift pump and cut the arm off of it.
bolted the plate to it to see exactly where it needed to be modified.
mine was hitting on the lower part and actually bent the plate upon first install
a baby beater brought it back to flat.
then i took my grinder and ground the plate down to where i hit aluminum...
a little bit of RTV, and vwaolia! problem solved.
this is for the people that buy this plate at your local auto store.
they do make a plate thats a direct bolt on, but you have to order it online.
it took me less than 15 minutes from disassemble to finish.
