Another project. Went down to the junk yard this weekend to help process cars for the crusher and when opening the hood to cut the battery out.....I found two.;Sweet The truck had been sitting for 6 weeks and I really did not expect it to start but after the GP light went out, the 6.9 did not make three revolutiond before it was idling as smooth as any I have ever heard, almost like it knew it's life was dependent on it so I had to bring it home. Needs brake work and carpet but the cab is solid and I already have replacement box, doors and fenders, they cost me just what I paid for the truck, $245 per ton. Judging from the way it drives and the condition of the seat and pedels with the fact the engine has no blow by at all, I believe the mileage just may be correct. Time to get busy and make him presentable again.

Thanks guys, I have installed and aligned the doors and fenders and mounted the visor . Now it's off to be stripped and I have a few days of sanding to do. I have decided not to go overboard with this one and to paint it in Rustoleum hammer coat silver with the midline in hammer coat black. While I was bolting the box down I was pleasantly suprised to see new Ford leaf packs and hangers.

Thanks guys. Well after one gallon of high build primer, some scotch-brite sanding pads, a half roll or paper, two rolls of tape and one gallon of Rustoleum hammer coat silver paint it is driveable. I may paint the mid section black in a few weeks but for now I like it. It turned out alot better than I expected and everyone who sees it loves the look of the paint. I'm not sure what gears are in it but in high gear i'm turning 2600RPM at 55 MPH:eek: Back to the yard this weekend for some fuel friendly 3.08 gears and carrier. Looks like I'll be bringing an IDI to the annual gathering after all. I would like to post a pic but for some reason I have been denied the privelage.?? Try again tomorrow I guess.

Awesome Tim! Glad to see you've got another IDI in the fleet! Going to be cool to hang out with you again. I've need seen you since the 2006 rally down in Tenn.

Hurry up and post some photos!
