There's a little plunger looking thing that is below the throttle return, looks like its on top of part of the injection pump. Mine has no pressure, its just flops up and down by hand.

Symptoms are not wanting to start and once started and driven cutting off coming to a stop. Once it starts it will idle in park fine.

I'm without power right now so any help would be appreciative.

I think you are talking about the high idle solenoid. It should only be in use when cold starting, mine is floppy when not energized, too. It isn't absolutely essential to the operation of the truck, my 6.9 never even had one. It will not affect the way the truck runs or make it stall. If could be air intrusion, a failing lift pump or a sticky metering valve. I'm thinking a combination perhaps.

Yeah its the solinoid thing smolkin was referring to....

Turned the idle screw back down a turn, about 650rpm now. Starts right up.

Took in some water last night driving around, hope that was the reason for acting up. That or fueling up during a hurricane.
