Can any one tell me if the IP on a 1990 7.3 automatic is the same as mine which is a 1987 6.9 with a 5 speed. There is one at a pick a part near me and they get $69.00 for them and I was going to get it to have a spare but a friend told me he thought the sticks were different than the automatics. Keith

Nothing different. The autos have a throttle sensor on the side that unbolts.

injection lines are different from the 6.9 to the 7.3.
7.3's have a pulse adapter on #1 or a van has it on #4

Get it quick, may or may not be good, 95% they are good. There is like cpdenton said a TPS, if you pull it off, save the actuating tab, you don't need it with a manual. Others get one from a JY for a C6 which only has a pin, the tab is for an Auto. Sell it, they are obsolete.

Its just as posted. They fit both a 6.9 or 7.3. Externally they are just slightly different because of being for an auto or manual trans. Otherwise exactly the same. Now internally they are different from the 6.9 to the 7.3 turbo. But once again, any injection pump will send fuel to the injectors on any idi engine. Very few members here can distinguish the power differences between these pumps.
