Well I got my inexpensive seat cutter set.
The seat scraper worked really well for pulling the old coppers out. Just centre it, tap it in and the washer came right out.
I did not like the way the cutter had to be held square on the seat by feel (it could rock side to side in the injector pocket).
So I took an old injector and centre bored it to the diameter of the mandrel.
This worked really well with the 17 x 19 reamer bit attached.
Sorry no pics once I got going I just finished up the job.
It sure started a lot easier than it used to and perfectly clear exhaust at cold idle (70F) ambient.
Idles quieter than it used to.
Once I drive it a meaningful distance I will report on differences in fuel consumption.
Thanks for all the great info on this site.

Im interested in the brand on that kit. It could come in real handy. Good job on making a bushing out of the old injector. Much more accurate than feel, but feel does get the job done.

I thought of you when I clicked the link. Only a few bucks more Canadian, so you wouldn't have to cross the border.
But I forgot to tag you.

Well after about 3 weeks of driving this is what I notice.
Truck starts much much easier.
Smokes much less.
Less noise.
Fuel economy has gone from about 14 mpg (US) to about 16 mpg (US).
The improvement is probably better than that. Have not made any long trips yet.
Not a difficult job and very worth while.
