Hey again,

Truck has been shutting off randomly, and I thought it was a mechanical issue. Come to find out the electrical portion of my ignition switch is bad/loose and the switch will come to rest in between crank and run or in between acc and run. When this happens the motor dies and sometimes the electrical goes out (radio, ac, etc.) and sometimes it does not.

I validated my theory by jumping a hot lead to the fuel shutoff solenoid on the ip and the truck ran and drove everywhere without issue.

So I've looked around at jotozone, kragen, and even rock auto and niether have the switch. Is this a stealership item? I was considering going to the bone yard. Any idea what years will interchange with an 87?

Does it matter if it's diesel, gas, trim, etc?

Thanks in advance!

Rock Auto has it. It is Standard #US130. It's under Electrical-Switch & Relay >> Starter Switch. It's the same switch gas or diesel.
