Do you use ether when it's cold? Could it be that ether burns hotter and "leaner" than diesel? I'v seen race cars with funky ash in the tailpipes.

That's a WAG by the way. I have no idea how ether burns in the chamber.

Never ever use anything that spins to clean the block where the head gaskets go....ever!

they make a rubber wheel, with nipples on it, set your air on low, 60 or so psi, and it works fantastic!
its ment for removing decals off body panels.
will not scratch the surface, but it does make a mess...
