Oh shucks Darrin, I could never subject my truck to such torture...gives me the creeps just thinking about it.
I better go wax the undercarriage. :D

I was up there thurs-mon. I looked for you but never found you.
Looks like you had a blast.

Thur to Mon, you had a nice long weekend!, We were there from Fri to Sun, The last pic of my first post with the truck, Bronco, and Jeep was taken by the last hill at the exit of the dunes, the truck sat there most of the day, we used it as home base while we all took turns playing. It would have been cool to meet up. What did you have there?

That is what they were built for! :D I have to admit that I had reservations about running it again, It is the first time that I have had it on the dunes since the makeover. I took it easy for the first 1/2 hour, then ran it pretty hard. It was a blast.
Yesterday I powerwashed the whole underside of the truck, Ill wax it today,...;Really

That is a cool front bumper, man! I like!

Greg

Thanks Greg, It is a Warn ***** bumper made for that vintage truck. All of the Big Foot trucks used them during those years also. It took me about a year to find one that was feesable for me to get but it was worth the effort. I still want to add a pre runner bar with a couple of lights, but that would have to be custom made.

That looks like a blast. I like the new shinny spare tire.

Gotta have a matching spare!, looks a lot better than the one that I put on at the Rally,...

Thanks for the comments guys, I still want to add some pics of the some other rigs that were up there, including a Wrangler that did an endo over the top of a hill, but have not had a chance to yet. Probablly tonight, the pics are on my home puter.

got any pics of the dune ready RC cars?

yup,... He brought 3 of them, the one sitting on the tool box is a hand built T-max, 4wd gasser with paddle tires, but it actually was getting too much traction and would sort of bog down. The other 2 had brushless motors, and ran awesome I took the pics of the Bug flying and doing the wheelie.

But This was the Baddest Ride we saw all weekend. I talked to the owner for a while, this thing and a 500 CU Caddy motor sitting on 44" boggers. This thing was down right COOL! ;Sweet

What not to do at the dunes:

The White Jeep crested the top of the hill a little too fast, He got too much air and did a nose dive about 30 feet down the other side, blowing the air bags, endoing the Jeep and both the driver and passenger were taken away on a back board.

The Red Jeep Comanche ran through the little mud puddle without seeing how deep it was. The Comanche didn't look that big till it was towed out, that was some deep water!

I was doing an old search for dune pics, and realized that I never saw your post Gruss, Sorry for blowing you off,...

Your old stock PSD would do just fine, I ran mine every year with the IDI with no problems going anywhere. The long wheel base makes a pretty comfortable ride but it makes it so you can be sitting on the frame at the peaks if you are not careful. When I take my truck up there I go with someone else that can go up the hills before I do to see if they are peaked to much for my truck. Kinda like having a spotter.
