looking at the Hypermax turbine discharge system... That is the down pipe correct? It says 94+ power stroke 7.3s..my truck is a 94 factorty turbo'd IDI , how much difference is there? is it just the mounting diameters thats the only difference.. i have looked at th tech article on the power stroke d/p to make fit with idi..if that is all i really need to do i am probably gonna go for it.. Just want to check before i spend any $$$..thanks guys..

The powerstroke DP will need to be modified to work with your factory turbo IDI. It will not bolt in unfortunately. I'm not sure if the Hypermax part will need the same modification as the tech article, but it will likely be similar.

Hope someone who has done the modification will be along shortly with more info for ya.

that is the article i looked at and it doesn't look to difficult.. gonna scrape a few bucks up and do it in the next couple weeks.. will try and afford the 3.5" full exhaust through them as well..i can't find a local shop that will touch anything above 3" pipe

Yep, no one has benders for anything above 3" pipe. They exist but probably only at places like Banks, ATS, Hypermax, Autojet and maybe some big truck exhaust shops. Even a 3 inch pipe would be a rarity in the non diesel market and benders don't come cheap. I used a 3" ATS downpipe to a 3-4" adapter to a section of straight 4" OD pipe from NAPA and a Dynomax tailpipe, no muffler. Here in FL we have no inspections and it sounds like even in some states that do a turbo is an acceptable muffling device in and of itself. I like the straight exhaust, and it probably gains nothing over a 3.5" kit but it was cheap and not too hard to install. If you have the factory turbo downpipe though you're going to have to do some redneck engineering to get a 3" non crushed dp.

I just installed a complete turbo back PSD exhaust this weekend and it came out really nice. I used a 3" flange kit off eBay to make a nice v-band style flange for the down pipe. I followed two threads to make mine:

My exhaust system and flange kit were both from eBay:
