Yeah, thats what I was thinking... Average price for a nippondenso is around $250. I have a mitsu type right now and have found them with lifetime warranties for around $140. Just wanted to hear some thoughts. at almost double the output of the other nippon units, I'm wondering why it exists and if anyone is using it.

Are you sure that is not a starter for a Power Stroke?

Then they have another one with the same part number except the 2 in front is dropped making the part number 440208 Image below.

The image below is for an IDI. As you can see the one your asking about in your original message has a different mount. It will not work on an IDI.

I ordered that starter a few years ago, the one that showed up was not nippendenso, but some small planetary reduction starter. I had napa call them, and the dude on the other end said when you order that part # you get one of three completely different starters. I sent it back.
