your money can be better spent elsewhere.
They're the new favorite for towing companies. Chrysler minivans with their "autovomit" transmissions used to hold that honor.
keep in mind this is the last year for the 6.0 and the resale is going to really suck later on down the road.
Did you see the really clean f250 SC IDI on CL this last week?

I'm on my 2nd one....
an 03 Ex that all said was the "bad year" - had 45K great miles on it when I traded cuz I wanted the last year production 05 Ex I have now...

To each his own, but mine has been great -
Good mpg for what it is !
Heck, it's not much worse than my wifes 06 Mazda3 !!!!
and the Ex weighs about 5 times more, has seating for 4 more, 4x4, and 400+ hp and 800 or so ft-lbs :)

:rotflmao Yeh I seen the one on CL for $20,000 and very nice it is but it also has 130,000 miles on it and that means the reason he is trying to sell it is that the trany is about to go out. I have already been though this with the last 2 fords i've owned and soon as they go over 100,000 boom tranny goes.

My brother likes his F-350. I like it too. He's probably got 20,000 miles on it now.

Cool, make sure to have the dealer run an OASIS on it (even if it is brand new) so you know it's up to date with any needed TSB's.

One more thing.........ENJOY it.

Remember you always hear about the upset customers... Rarely do the happy people come and post when things are going well.

Towcat, ever think that you might be towing twice as many Fords than other brands becasue there are TWICE as many sold???

I have yet to see the problems per 10,000 vehicles sold, but I bet it is pretty close among the big three right now. Keep in mind Ford still sells more diesel pickups than the other two combined.

Found one but still working on hammering out the #s to get a good deal. So far I got a $48,000 truck discounted to $37,000 and their giving me $4,750 cash back on top of that. We'll see what happens.

I LOVE my pick up. Had an EGR valve go out but other than that, I've driven 85,000 miles all over the south since Sept. 2004. The dealer asked me when I was going to trade and I told him I'm still in love. Not trading anytime soon!

Can't get the #'s right on the 06's and 7's as much as I really like them, I'm not gona buy a brand new one untill a year after the the new 2008 Ford diesel 6.4 Twin Turbo. So I bought a White 2004 F250 4x4 crew cab Lariat shortbed fully automatic W/65,000 original miles 1 owner. Got it for $25,000
